Primary School Admissions

St. John’s Primary School is the ideal place for little ones to start their academic career.

Dedicated early childhood educators guide K(4) and K(5) students through either a full- or half-day of learning and fun in classrooms that are bright, colorful, and age-appropriate.

The Primary School Campus at St. John’s offers challenging academic programs for K(4) and K(5) students within a nurturing Christian environment. ELMO digital projectors and one-to-one iPads bring cutting-edge technology to the Primary School; enhancing the academic subjects that St. John’s faculty excel at teaching.

Primary School Admissions Calendar

September through February:  Applications for the upcoming school year are accepted.

Admissions Open House for parents with prospective students in grades K(4) through 8 is being held on Thursday, January 31st on the Lower School campus (906 S. Orleans Avenue). Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. The Open House runs from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.  At the Open House, parents will learn more about the School from students, alumni, faculty, and the Head of School, enjoy refreshments, and sign children up for assessments. There is complimentary valet parking at this event.

December through February:  Screenings, consisting of two appointments, one an individual session (25 minutes) and one a playgroup session (60 minutes).

Early March: Application deadline and payment of $100 application fee.

Late March: Letters of Notification for K(4) & K(5) will be mailed.

Late March: Enrollment contracts for accepted students are due.

End of March: Deadline for Financial Aid.

Students entering K(4) must be four years old on or before September 1 of the year of entry, and students entering K(5) must be five years old on or before September 1. 

Primary School Assessments

Screenings for K(4) and K(5) consist of two assessment appointments; a playgroup visit and an individual assessment, to be scheduled at the Admissions Open House or after.

The Playgroup visit (60 minutes) and the individual assessment (25 minutes) both take place at the Primary School Campus.

Campus Visit: 7:50 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.

Please pack a snack, lunch and water bottle. Please have your child wear appropriate school attire and tennis shoes.

Middle School Admissions

St. John’s Middle School is where the St. John’s ten-year experience truly comes together.

Prioritizing academic excellence, the St. John’s Middle School curriculum prepares its students for future academic success and builds a platform for students to confidently and creatively explore an ever-changing world of opportunities. The effort students have put in during the past six years culminate in four stellar Middle School years, and all the skills they have mastered help them succeed at ever greater challenges.
